Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1 Pound Beef

  • 1 Pound Mild Sausage

  • 1 Onion chopped

  • 1/2 Yellow Bell Pepper

  • 1/2 Red or Green Bell Pepper 

  • 1/2 Jar of Sofrito

  • 1 Packet Chili Spices

  • 2 tablespoon Cumin

  • 1/2 tablespoon espresso powder 

  • 1/2 cup red wine

  • 1 Can Diced tomatoes (Garlic, Oregano, Basil)

  • 1 Carton of Strained Tomatoes

  • 1 Can Pinto Beans in Chili Sauce 

  • 1 Can Red Kidney Beans in Chili Sauce

  • 1 Can Mixed Beans in Chili Sauce

Recipe Directions:

Sauté onions and bell peppers for 6 mins in a large dutch oven pan.

  1. Add in beef and sausage. Cook until meat is browned off.

  2. Add the sofrito, chili spices, cumin, espresso powder, red wine, diced tomatoes, strained tomatoes and all of the beans.

  3. Stir all ingredients together until combined and let simmer for an hour.

  4. Serve with grated sharp cheddar cheese, avocado slices, sour cream and corn chips.


Variations: Use all turkey for the meat. For a meatless version omit beef and sausage and add in more bell peppers.
