Recipe Ingredients:

  • 2 cups shredded filo dough

  • 4-6 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 1/2 cup pistachio paste (homemade or store-bought)

  • 2 cups dark chocolate melting wafers (Ghirardelli or similar)

  • Optional: refined coconut oil for thinning pistachio paste

Recipe Directions:

  • Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a pan over medium heat. Once bubbling, add shredded filo dough and stir to coat. Toast until golden brown.

  • Add pistachio paste to the toasted filo while warm. Mix until well combined. Adjust consistency with more butter or coconut oil if needed. Let cool.

  • Melt chocolate wafers in the microwave in 15-second intervals, stirring until smooth.

  • Fill the base of a three-part candy mold with melted chocolate. Tap to level and place the inserts to spread chocolate evenly. Refrigerate until set.

  • Remove inserts, add pistachio filo filling, and cover with another layer of melted chocolate. Refrigerate until firm.

  • Remove chocolate bars from the mold and enjoy!
